GREENWOOD, SC. – After starting their season on Friday with two wins, Florida Tech volleyball made sure to keep the momentum rolling on Saturday afternoon at the Redderson Invitational, earning a pair of straight-set victories for their best start to a season in over a decade and a half.

MATCH ONE

STATS OF THE MATCH:
First Set:
- For the second day in a row, Tech started the match strong, taking the first six points through two kills and an ace from Maria Jesus Munoz, two kills from Cordelia Kearns and a kill courtesy of Devyn Glassgold.
- The two teams would be even through the ensuing 10 points with Tech taking an 11-5 lead from another Kearns kill.
- The Crimson and Gray continued to dominate with a 7-2 run to force a CAU timeout.
- Florida Tech kept the lead in double digits for the remainder of the set with Lilian Muszynski's kill closing the frame.

Second Set:
- The second set would start on a more competitive with the two teams seeing eye to eye through the first 10 points, as neither team had a lead larger than two points before Clark Atlanta found a 7-4 advantage.
- CAU would hang on to the lead for the next 13 points before a Kelly Merz ace put Tech back in front, 13-12.
- After CAU responded to re-take the lead, Scarlett Kimbrell's kill put the Crimson and Gray ahead again, 18-17.
- Two more kills by Kearns and a Clark Atlanta error made it a 21-19 FT lead when CAU called for timeout.
- Out of the break, CAU rallied to tie before a Munoz kill and an error by Shynique McGee reinstalled the Tech lead to 23-22.
- Following another team, Florida Tech secured a two-set advantage through another Munoz kill and a Merz ace.

Third Set:
- The Crimson and Gray gave themselves considerably more room to work with to start the third set, opening with a 10-3 advantage.
- The opening FT surge was powered by three Glassgold aces and two kills from Ashley Rants.
- While Clark Atlanta would temporarily halt the momentum, Tech would extend the lead to 16-6 through a Glassgold kill and a Kenzie Delacher ace.
- CAU could only shrink the margin to seven from that point and an attack error gave Florida Tech the straight-set victory
- Glassgold had three kills and three aces in the set. Â

NOTABLE PANTHERS:
- Cordelia Kearns was the only Panther to reach double-digit kills, tallying 10 along with six digs.
- Devyn Glassgold posted six kills and four service aces.
- Maria Jesus Munoz provided seven kills and seven digs.
- Kenzie Delacher contributed 17 assists, three digs and an ace.
- Kelly Merz recorded 10 assists, four digs and two aces.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- The Panthers now lead the all-time series 2-0.
- This was the first meeting between the teams since an August 25, 2007 matchup in Augusta, GA.
- During the first set, Kenzie Delacher passed Stephanie Lee (1994-1997) for ninth place on the program's career assists list with her 1,585th assist. Â
- Tech recorded nine service aces, having reached that mark in all three games so far this season.

STATS OF THE MATCH:
First Set:
- The game opened on a competitive note as neither team had a lead larger than two points over the first 16 points until a Munoz kill gave the Panthers a 10-7 advantage.
- The Trailblazers would go on a 6-2 run to draw level at 13 before a Kearns kill and a Jeanne Hassoun ace restored Tech's lead.
- Back-to-back kills from Kearns and Munoz forced NGU to call timeout at 17-14.
- Following the timeout, a service error and a Teal Phelan ace brought North Greenville to within one.
- Three consecutive Munoz kills would give the Crimson and Gray breathing room before the Trailblazers were able to get within 20-19.
- That would be as close as they got as two errors and three Patelli kills gave the Panthers an opening set win.

Second Set:
- The game's competitive air continued early in the second set as the two teams split the first eight points before Florida Tech moved out to a 7-3 lead thanks to a kill and an ace from Patelli, kills from Kearns, Munoz and Irene Kitson as well as two NGU errors.
- The Panther run ultimately reached 10-0 as, following a timeout, Patelli recorded two aces, Munoz added a kill and a North Greenville error brought the lead out to 13-3.
- The Trailblazers were unable to get the deficit under double digits as another three kills from Kearns and two from Munoz steered the Panthers to a comfortable second set win.

Third Set:
- A pair of Kitson kills and NGU errors saw Tech take an early 4-2 lead.
- Three kills by Muszynski, a Kari Voelstad Bogen ace and two aces helped move the Panther lead to 11-5.
- Two errors and a Reagan Funderburk ace shrunk the Crimson and Gray lead to 11-9 before two errors and kills from Munoz and Patelli extended the lead back to 14-10.
- Two more kills from Kearns and another from Kitson brought the Panther advantage to 17-12.
- North Greenvile were up for the challenge, however and thanks to kills from Elena Dyer and Anna Fiddelke, a Linsey Burke ace and an error, they drew level at 17.
- Tech went back in front thanks to kills from Muszynski and Patelli and two errors.
- The Panthers ultimately closed the match on an 8-2 run as four consecutive Trailblazer errors ended the match.

NOTABLE PANTHERS:
- Cordelia Kearns led the way again with 13 kills, a .458 hitting percentage and 15 digs.
- Maria Jesus Munoz added 11 kills and eight digs.
- Chiara Patelli provided nine kills, a .412 hitting percentage six digs and three service aces
- Kenzie Delacher contributed 24 assists and seven digs.
- Irene Kitson finished her first weekend as a Panther with seven kills and a .583 hitting percentage.
- Jeanne Hassoun tallied 11 assists.
- Kari Voelstad Bogen recorded 10 digs.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- This was the first ever meeting between the teams.
- Tech's 4-0 start is their best since 2008, when they began 10-0.
- The Panthers posted a .276 hitting percentage and in doing so, they reached the .200 or mark in each of their four games for the weekend.
- This was the 24th double-digit kill game of Cordelia Kearns' career.Â
- This was the 44th game in Kenzie Delacher's career in which she recorded at least 20 assists.
