LAKELAND, Fla. - The Florida Tech men's and women's swimming teams combined for six first-place finishes in their second meet of the season on Saturday, Oct. 11 at the Nina B. Hollis Wellness Center Pool. Ultimately, Florida Southern were victorious on both the men's side, 182-80, and women's side, 179.5-82.5.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCESÂ
· Freshman Isabella Sarvis earned the Panthers' first victory of the day, taking the 100 Back with a time of 59.69, 0.35s ahead of Nilsu Demiran in second. It marks the second straight meet with a win for the freshman.Â
· Akos Hajagos earned wins in the 200 Fly (1:52.03) and 200 Back (1:53.59) for his second and third wins of the season. Hajagos finished over two seconds ahead of the closest competition in the 200 Fly and .60s ahead in the 200 Back.Â
· Miranda Olhasso earned her second win of the season by finishing in a dead heat with FSC's Rania Khallouqi in the 50 Free at 24.91. Olhasso took home second in the 100 Fly with a 57.99 finish. · Melissa Zucco made it two weeks in a row with a victory, this time finishing tops in the 200 Back as her time of 2:08.25 as nearly five seconds ahead of the closest competitor.Â
· Reigning SSC Men's Swimmer of The Week Efe Ongoren made it two straight weeks with a in the 500 Free, as his time of 4:42.05 was over two seconds ahead of second place. Ongoren also earned second in the 1000 Free with a 9:48.81 finish.Â
· The reigning SSC Women's Swimmer of The Week, Abby Briggs, took second in the 100 Free (54.29) and 400 IM (4:42.17).Â
· Antoni Fronczak nabbed a second in the 200 Free thanks to his time of 1:43.54.Â
· Zachary Reese's 52.26 was good for third in the 100 Back.Â
· Dan Kunin grabbed second in the 100 Fly with a time of 50.98.
· DK Nakashima placed third in the 100 Breast (59.58) and the 200 Breast (2:12.21).Â
· In relay action, the team of Sonia Peters, Corinne Roberts, Olhasso and Sarvis took second in the women's 200 Medley Relay thanks to a time of 1:48.87. They were followed by the group of Zucco, Kayleigh Jollands, Demiran and Dakota Scott, who finished with a time of 1:50.01.Â
· The men's 200 Medley Relay team of Andy Pleiman, Matthew Heaphy, Emiel Van Oord and Josh McLean nabbed second with a 1:32.70 finish.Â
· The women's 400 Free Relay squad of Olhasso, Sarvis, Scott and Briggs earned second thanks to their time of 3:36.81.Â
· In the men's 400 Free Relay, the quartet of Fronczak, McLean, Lucas Mitchelmore and Ongoren finished second with a time of 3:07.16.Â

The Panthers men's and women's swimming teams will return to the pool on Friday, Oct. 24 for their first appearance at the Panther Aquatic Center this season as they host the first annual Florida Tech Classic. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 P.M.Â
