TAMPA, Fla. – The Florida Tech women's soccer team drops their first SSC match of the season to the Tampa Spartans on Saturday, Oct. 11. With the loss, Tech falls to 7-2-4 (3-1-2 SSC) while the Spartans improve to 5-3-1 (3-2-0 SSC).

GAME NOTES
- The Panthers fired the first shot of the match in the 5th minute as Mia Otero's shot was deflected by a Tampa defender. Savannah Oxley booted the rebound at the Tampa goal, but her shot was saved by the Spartan keeper.
- Otero put two shots towards the Spartan goal to keep the pressure on in the 9th and 13th minute. Neither reached the back of the net.
- Tampa had a good opportunity to take the lead in the 16th minute, but the shot went off the top woodwork.
- Tech remained aggressive as they fired shots on goal in the 22nd minute (Alice Mottershead) and in the 30th minute (Ellinor Blaasternes) that was saved by Tampa's goalkeeper.
- Florida Tech broke through in the 34th minute as Izzie Bromage scored her second goal of the week to put the Panthers ahead 1-0.
- Tampa would get one final shot in the 42nd minute that missed wide right.
- The Spartans would even up the score at 1-1 in the 66th minute as a good pass would find a Tampa player in the box who snuck one by Kaitlin Sinkler.
- Eight minutes later, Tampa would take the lead on a header that just bounce over the Panthers head.
- Tampa maintained possession for most of the half as they held FT to three shots (one shot on goal) in the second half.
- There would only be one more Panther shot on goal which came in the 90th minute as Alice Mottershead's shot was saved with 38 seconds left.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
- The loss snaps Tech's 10 match unbeaten streak.
- With her goal in the 34th minute, Izzie Bromage is now tied with Lauryn Wood for the team lead in goals (4).
- The Panthers two losses this season have both come on the road.
- Tampa held Florida Tech to a season-low in total shots with 10.
