MATCH NOTES:
First Set: Florida Tech 25, Rollins Tars 22
  • Tonight's match started out hot for the Panthers. Cordelia Kearns opened the scoring with a kill before Kari Voelstad Bogen earned a service ace.
  • Rolling got the board, but another kill from Kearns, plus a Tar error, gave the Panthers a 4-1 early lead.
  • Tech continued to roll early in the first set with more kills from Kearns mixed with kills from Ashley Rants and Isabelle Clark.
  • With the Panthers 10-4, the Tars mounted a small run to get them back in the set, but Elisa Broggio put an end to the run with a kill of her own.
  • Great defense from Kenzie Delacher and Courtney Capar helped the Panthers continue to grow their lead, holding a 16-10 advantage more than halfway through the set.
  • More Tar errors and kills put the Tech advantage at 21-14 as the Panthers looked to close out the set.
  • While Rollins did mount a comeback, kills from Kearns and Broggio put the set away, giving Tech a 1-0 lead in the match.
Second Set: Florida Tech 25, Rollins Tars 23
  • Courtney Capar began the second with a service ace and the Panthers were off and running once again.
  • Cordelia Kearns, Devyn Glassgold and Isabelle Clark all earned multiple kills to give Tech an early 9-3 lead.
  • Despite the hot start from Tech, Rolling answered right back with a big run of their own to cut the Panther lead all the way down to two points (12-10).
  • Kills from Ashley Rants and Cordelia Kearns kept the Panthers in front through the next ten points, but the Tars remained at their heels.
  • Both teams traded points, but back-to-back errors from the Tars had the Panthers in front 19-16.
  • Just six points away from taking full control of the match, Tech continued to throttle down at the net. Kills from Isabelle Clark and Elisa Broggio (3x), plus another ace from Courtney Capar put the set away.
Third Set: Florida Tech 26, Rollins Tars 24
  • For the first time in the match, Rollins got out to the early lead after starting the third set up 3-0.
  • The Panthers had a few Tar errors and a big block from Hadley Waldren and Elisa Broggio, the Panthers found themselves trailing 6-3.
  • Kills from Devyn Glassgold (2x) and Cordelia Kearns had Tech within striking distance but Rollins still led halfway through the third set.
  • Needing to spark momentum, the Panthers executed a huge 6-1 run in large part due to three straight service aces from Hadley Waldren. This run put Tech right back in the lead (11-10) and the two teams battled from there.
  • Both teams traded points, but it was kills from Isabelle Clark and Devyn Glassgold that kept Tech in the lead 17-14.
  • Both sides continued to trade points, but it was Rollins who found a small run to not just tie the set but take the lead 22-20.
  • A huge block from Ashley Rants and a kill from Cordelia Kearns pulled the scoreline even, but the score would be deadlocked again at 24.
  • It would only take two serves in extra points for the Panthers to slam the door on the Tars. Following a service error from Rollins, Isabelle Clark and Elisa Broggio combined for a sweep-saving block to win the match.
