FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Florida Tech women's soccer team fell in the SSC Championship match to Nova Southeastern in penalty kicks on Sunday, Nov. 16.

GAME NOTES
- The top-seeded Sharks jumped on top of the Panthers early with a goal in the 6th minute via header inside the box.
- Tech had an opportunity to tie the match in the 20th minute, but Lauryn Wood's shot was saved.
- Florida Tech scored in the 24th minute as Savannah Oxley found space off a good pass from Lauryn Wood for Oxley's second goal of the season.
- Nova recorded a corner kick in the 26th minute, but that was the only other action of the first period with a 1-1 score going into half.
- The Sharks had possession deep into Panther territory in the 56th minute. Kaitlin Sinkler made two huge diving saves to reject the Nova offense.
- In the second half, Florida Tech only recorded two shots, both by Lauryn Wood that missed high.
- After the saves by Sinkler, NSU had trouble navigating through the Panther defense as they only got off one more shot in the second half. The shot came in the 76th minute and missed high.
- Sara Batchadji quickly started overtime by dribbling down the field and firing a shot at the Nova net that was saved by the keeper.
- Nova Southeastern had good opportunities in the 100th minute, but two incredible diving blocks by Kaitlin Sinkler kept the Panthers alive to force a second overtime.
- In the 102th minute, Ada Geier fired a shot from outside the box that missed just over the Nova net.
- Kaitlin Sinkler made another save in the 106th minute to preserve the 1-1 tie.
- The last shot for the Panthers came in the 107th minute when Ellinor Blaasternes's shot was saved by the Nova keeper.
- The first four shots for both sides were made to start penalty kicks. Sara Batchadji, Alice Mottershead, Savannah Oxley and Ada Geier were successful.
- Nova missed their fifth shot while the Panthers fifth chanced was saved by the NSU keeper.
- Both teams were successful in their sixth chance, Blaasternes made her shot to tie.
- After Nova made their sixth PK of the shootout, the Panthers missed their final shot high left.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
- Savannah Oxley scored her second goal of the season in the 24th minute.
- The Panthers were held to five shots during regulation.
- Kaitlin Sinkler saved six shots in the championship match.
- Batchadji, Mottershead, Oxley, Geier and Blaasternes converted on penalty kicks.
- This was Florida Tech's fifth consecutive SSC Championship appearance.
