PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Florida Tech women's soccer team advance to the second round of the 2025 NCAA Tournament with a 2-0 victory over Embry-Riddle on Friday, Nov. 21.

GAME NOTES
- The Panthers were on the defensive early as Embry-Riddle rattled off five shots within the first 10 minutes of play. All shots were close as two missed high, two hit the woodwork and the last was saved by Kaitlin Sinkler.
- Alice Mottershead placed a shot on the Eagles goal, but it was saved towards the bottom right of the goal.
- The Embry-Riddle goalkeeper would save a second shot in the 21st minute off the foot of Lauryn Wood.
- Kaitlin Sinkler would save an ERAU shot in the 27th minute to preserve the 0-0 tie.
- Sara Batchadji fired a shot at the Eagle goal, but she was unable to get enough on it to sneak it past the keeper.
- Within 30 seconds of being subbed onto the pitch in the 35th minute, Carolina Falcao received a pass from Lauryn Wood with room to operate. Falcao struck the ball with her right foot, and into the goal for her first of season.
- Both Falcao and Mottershead attempted to extend the Panther lead in the 36th and 38th minute, but both shots were saved.
- Sinkler had two consecutive saves in the 56th and 57th minutes.
- Great back-and-forth exchanges saw neither team getting a shot off in minute 62 through minute 73.
- A shot by ERAU was deflected by a Panther defender in the 74th minute.
- In the 84th minute, Lauryn Wood brought the ball down to the far corner and dribbled towards the goal. Wood crossed to Mia Otero in the middle of the box which she deflected the ball into the bottom right section of the goal to give the Panthers the 2-0 lead.
- Sinkler made one last save in the 89th minute
- Tech went onto bleed the clock and earned their first win of their 2025 NCA Tournament run.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
- Lauryn Wood notched two assists.
- Carolina Falcao scored her first goal of the season to put Tech on top in the 35th minute.
- Mia Otero gave the Panthers insurance in the 84th minute with her fifth goal of the season.
- Kaitlin Sinkler recorded another clean sheet as she saved five shots.
