MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Florida Tech women's basketball team, despite four double-digit point scorers, fell to Saint Leo 73-70.
INSIDE THE MATCHUP:
Final: Florida Tech 70, Saint Leo 73
Records: Florida Tech (4-4, 1-2 SSC), Saint Leo (2-4, 1-2 SSC)

FIRST QUARTER:
- Saint Leo was hot to start, going on a 14-2 run.
- Tai Roberts stopped the bleeding, draining a giant shot from beyond arc.
- The three sparked two from Nandinkhsuel Nyamjav, including one after she stole the ball from the Lions to cut the deficit to 14-11.
- The Panthers scored seven more for an 18-14 lead before the Lions grabbed another point.
- Tech ended the first quarter with an 18-17 advantage.
SECOND QUARTER:
- The Lions started well in the second quarter as well, scoring the first five points and taking a 22-18 lead.
- The quarter remained tight with Roberts scoring six points, keeping the Panthers in it.
- Tech was down 30-29 at the halftime break.
THIRD QUARTER:
- Roberts continued to lead the team, dropping another three-pointer at the start of the third quarter for the 32-30 edge.
- Saint Leo hit two of their own to regain a six-point lead.
- Elif Bayrak made a three, a layup, and a couple of free throws, cutting the Lions' lead to two points at the 2:10 mark.
- Each team traded stops at the charity stripe, but the Lions expanded their advantage to 52-44, heading into the fourth.
FOURTH QUARTER:
- Amanda Ogbonna subbed in, scored four points, and grabbed four rebounds, including three offensive rebounds. Making the Panthers down by just one point at 56-55 with 5 minutes left.
- After a Roberts' layup and a tip-in bucket from Mikayla Morin, the game was tied at 59-59.
- Morin then made two free throws at 2:37, giving the Panthers a 63-59 lead.
- However, the Lions tied it up with 37 seconds remaining.
- Bayrak cashed in a huge corner three, but Saint Leo tied it up, sending the game into overtime.
OVERTIME:
- Saint Leo hit a three-pointer to begin overtime.
- Morin made two free throws and a layup to make it a 71-70 game at 2:39 left in the game.
- Tech was not able to get on the board before the final buzzer ran out.

- The Panthers are 55-26 overall against Saint Leo.
- Since the start of the 2015-16 season, the Lions have a 13-6 advantage in the series.
- Tech is 32-10 all-time at home against Saint Leo but has won just one of the past eight meetings at the Clemente Center.
