FIRST QUARTER:
  • The three were dropping for both teams to start as Tampa splashed three straight, and the Panthers hit two in a row, down to the Spartans 9-6 with 8 minutes remaining. Tai Roberts and Remingtyn Smith were the ones to drain the threes.
  • At the media timeout, despite the five Tampa three-pointers, the Panthers were down just five points at 15-10.
  • Kyandra Poitier grabbed a back-to-back offensive rebound in separate possessions and immediately put the ball back up both times, keeping Tech within four points.

SECOND QUARTER:
  • A missed shot from Tampa led to a fast break layup by Roberts. Tech was down one early in the second.
  • Tech tied the game at 24 apiece on a Poitier jumper in the paint. The Panthers earned their first lead on a Divine Guthrie free throw after Poitier stole the ball from a Spartan player's hands.
  • Guthrie retook the 27-26 lead for the Panthers on the next possession on a 15-foot baseline jumper with a defender in her face.
  • A few defensive stops allowed Tampa to go back up by two, but Guthrie reappeared, draining another deep two for the 31-31 tie.
  • Going into the half, the Panthers had a 33-32 edge.
 THIRD QUARTER:
  • Jessica Lange swatted a massive block on the opening possession. The senior impacted the beginning of the quarter even more with a layup from under the net to extend Tech's lead to 35-32.
  • With a little over seven minutes in the quarter, Roberts cashed in on another three. Morin hit a fade away jumper in the following possession for the Panthers' largest lead of six points.
  • The defense prevented the Spartans from any field goals for over four minutes.
  • Morin could not be stopped, dropping another bucket to regain the six-point advantage. Then blocked a Tampa shot on the other end of the court.
  • An 11-2 Tampa run ended the third, giving the Spartans a 48-44 lead with 10 minutes left in the game.
 FOURTH QUARTER:
  •  Poitier scored Tech's first four points, bringing her to 10 on the game and helping the Panthers draw within two.
  • Roberts nailed a top-of-the-key three-pointer, earning back the 53-51 Panther lead.
  • The game was tied at 55 at the media timeout with three minutes left. Robert broke the tie out of the time out with a floater from the paint.
  • Roberts hit an important late shot for the 59-59 tie, and then the defense delivered a stop for the final possession, which resulted in 23.8 seconds on the clock.
  • Tampa would prevent the winning basket, sending the game into overtime.
OVERTIME:
  • The Spartans start extra time on a 6-0 run, highlighted by a corner-three.
  • With the time under three minutes, Roberts forced free throws and made both. Tech was down 65-61 as the time was going down.
  • A massive defensive stop allowed Morin to make it a one-possession game off an offensive rebound. Poitier forced her way through a defender's arms for the basket and the free throw in the next possession. It was a one-point game with one minute remaining.
  • Another major defensive stop and Roberts' floater had the Panthers on top by one with 18.7 on the clock.
  • However, the Spartans responded, finding Sariana Rodriguez on the pick-and-roll.
  • Roberts robbed Tampa, but the Panthers would not capitalize, having only three seconds for a shot.
NOTABLE PANTHERS:
