DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The #20 Panthers visited Daytona Beach, Fla., for a Sunshine State Conference matchup against fourth-ranked Embry-Riddle. Despite a fierce second-quarter rally by Tech, the Eagles outlasted the Panthers, 20-12.
INSIDE THE MATCHUP:

FIRST QUARTER:
- After winning the opening draw, the Eagles took the lead 50 seconds into the contest.
- In the first 15 minutes of play, the Eagles ran out to a 7-1 lead.
- Tech's goal was scored by Gillian Craig on an unassisted effort at the 7:05 mark.
- With 2:39 remaining in the period, Sophia Scichilone crashed in Craig's assist to make it 7-2.
- ERAU would answer back 39 seconds later to extend their lead 8-2.
SECOND QUARTER:
- The Panthers came out strong in the second period and carried the momentum, outscoring the Eagles 7-2.
- Sofie Bender and Clare McGuire started the rally recording back-to-back goals, both unassisted, within the first two minutes of the frame.
- At 11:19, Craig converted Scichilone's feed to cut the deficit to 8-5.
- Nearly three minutes later, following an Eagles turnover, Scichilone found the back of the net, making it a two-goal game.
- ERAU answered back 50 seconds later, following a draw control win.
- Caroline Finn got into the scoring mix on a man-up unassisted point with 5:55 on the clock.
- At 3:57, the duo of Criag and Scichilone would pair up to score on a man-down play, making it 9-8.
- A foul by the Eagles allowed a free position shot for Tech. Craig found the back of the net to tie up 9-9.
- With 58 seconds remaining, ERAU scored their second of the period to take a one-goal lead into the break.
THIRD QUARTER:
- The Panthers scored the first goal of the third, which would go on to be their lone goal of the frame. Phoebe Hurt netted one on an unassisted effort to tie it up 10-10.
- The Eagles countered less than a minute later and followed with a 7-0 run to give ERAU a 17-10 lead at the end of the third.
FOURTH QUARTER:
- The final frame opened with a stalemate, taking nearly seven minutes for either team to score.
- ERAU was first on the board after a Tech turnover at the 8:03 mark.
- The Panthers managed to get two goals back late, with Craig completing the hat trick and a Bender man-up goal off a feed from Gabrielle Skowronski.
- ERAU got two goals in quick succession in the last 1:26 to seal the 20-12 win.

- The Panthers had the advantage in groundballs (21-17) and caused turnovers (13-11).
- Embry-Riddle ended with more shots (32-23) and draw controls (25-10)
- The Panthers were 14-16 on the clears, while the Eagles were 11-15.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- Florida Tech moves to 1-6 all-time against Embry-Riddle, including 0-2 in Daytona Beach.
- Charlotte Hardie's four caused turnovers tie her for eighth on the Panther's all-time record list for career-caused turnovers with 65.
