GAME NOTES
- The Mavericks worked the ball down the field and into Florida Tech territory with four consecutive throw-ins. Colorado Mesa finally got a shot off late in the fifth minute that missed wide.
- CMU earned a corner in the 10th minute where the Mavericks got a shot off but was blocked by a Panther defender.
- Keeping the pressure on, Colorado Mesa fired another shot in the 19th minute that missed its mark, but in the 20thminute, the Mavericks put a shot on the Florida Tech goal that was saved by Mette Brandes.
- Brandes would make a great diving save in the 27th minute to keep CMU off the board.
- The Panthers notched their first shot in the 33rd minute where Alice Mottershead's shot was saved in the center of the net.
- Tech tallied a second shot in the 40th minute, but it drifted high over the net.
- In the 48th minute, Anae Malbete crossed a ball right into the center of the box where Eboni Bradshaw headed the ball towards the goal, but the Mavericks keeper was there to preserve the 0-0 score.
- Colorado Mesa took a 1-0 lead in the 49th minute where a ball hit the top crossbar and bounce straight down into a CMU attacker who punched it into the goal.
- Alice Mottershead put a shot on goal in the 52nd minute from outside the box that was saved by the Maverick goalie.
- Mette Brandes kept the Panthers in it with a diving save to her right to deny the Mavericks in the 61st minute.
- The Panthers were rejected again as the CMU goalkeeper earned her fifth save of the night two minute later.
- In the 66th minute, Alice Mottershead ripped a shot at the Maverick net that was saved. The keeper was unable to corral the ball where Kamila Pena was there to fire the ball past the keeper to tie the game at 1-1.
- CMU quickly moved the ball towards the Panther net right after the ensuing kickoff. Mette Brandes saved her fourth shot of the night late in the 66th minute to keep the score at 1-1.
- Alice Mottershead broke through the Mavericks defense and got a shot off on goal, but Colorado Mesa's keeper was able to corral the save.
- The Mavericks shot in the 81st minute missed wide.
- In the 88th minute, Maria Rojas sliced through the defense and had a perfect pass to Eboni Bradshaw who fired at the net. The Maverick goalkeeper made a tremendous game-saving diving save to keep the game tied.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
- Colorado Mesa held the Panthers to only two shots in the first half. Tech also did not record a corner within the first 45 minute.
- Kamila Pena scored the second goal of her freshman campaign in the 66th minute to tie the match at 1-1.
- Mette Brandes notched four saves, her second-highest total in a game this season.
- Colorado Mesa fired 16 shots against the Panthers, the most shots Tech has faced in a match this season.
