MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Florida Tech women's lacrosse knocks off No. 2 Adelphi in double overtime on Tuesday, Feb. 17. With the win, Tech improves to 1-2 on the season while Adelphi falls to 0-1.

GAME NOTES
FIRST QUARTER
- The Panthers of Adelphi scored within the first 50 seconds of the game as they gain the draw control and found the back of the net with a free position shot.
- Florida Tech tied the score at 1-1 as Sofie Bender found the back of the net off an assist by Abby Cudzilo.
- Adelphi regained the lead with a goal with five minutes remaining in the quarter.
- The Adelphi Panthers extend the lead to 3-1 with 3:28 on the clock.
- Bender struck again for the second time in the period with two minutes left.
- Adelphi tacked on another goal with 44 seconds remaining to take a 4-2 lead into the second quarter.
SECOND QUARTER
- AU caused a turnover which led into a goal to get the scoring started in the second quarter.
- The Florida Tech offensive found their stride as Gillian Craig scored with 8:30 left on the clock.
- The Panthers continued to claw back as Sofie Bender secured the hat trick with her third goal of the game. Sophia Scichilone was credited with the assist.
- Craig found the back of the net again this time off an assist by Sofie Bender to tie the score at 5-5.
- Adelphi scored a man-up goal before the half ended as they took a 6-5 lead into halftime.
THIRD QUARTER
- Adelphi came out of the half and scored within the first two minutes.
- Tech responded as Abby Cudzilo scored to bring the Panthers back within one.
- Sophia Scichilone brought Florida Tech back even as her first goal of the game with 9:25 in the third quarter.
- Adelphi forced a Tech turnover and took the lead back with a man-up goal.
- Ailish Fitzpatrick found paydirt and tied the game once again with six minutes remaining in the third.
- After an Adelphi goal, Clare McGuire put one passed the AU goalie to tie the score at 9-9 going into the fourth quarter.
FOURTH QUARTER
- The Tech defense held strong as they forced a shot clock violation early in the fourth.
- Adelphi took the lead with a goal at 8:41. AU doubled up with a goal a minute later.
- Tech showed resilience as they responded with goals from Phoebe Hurt and Haley Rosa. The goal from Rosa tied the score at 11-11 with 5:32 remaining.
- AU took a 12-11 lead with a goal with 2:57 left in the quarter.
- Phoebe Hurt scored a man-up goal to tie the game with 1:32 left.
- With the clock winding down, Adelphi made a huge save to send the game to overtime.
OT
- Clare McGuire gave Tech possession as she won the opening draw control.
- FT earned a free position shot that was saved to keep the game tied.
- Adelphi dodged a bullet as Tech hit the post off a free position shot at 1:03.
- Bridget Robinson stepped up for the Panthers as she made a great save with 15 seconds left as both teams were sent into a second overtime.

- McGuire earned another big draw control to start the second overtime.
- Abby Cudzilo made a great move around defenders and got the final shot by the Adelphi goaltender to give Florida Tech its highest ranked win in program history.

- Sofie Bender recorded a hat trick and added an assist for four points.
- Phoebe Hurt, Abby Cudzilo and Gillian Craig each had two goals.
- Hurt recorded seven draw controls.
