MELBOURNE, Ala. – The first home series of the 2026 campaign saw Florida Tech softball sweep Flagler in two games, 11-4 and 4-3.
Emma Chisholm showed Gulf Shores was no fluke, recording four hits and two dingers, including a massive grand slam.
GAME ONE:

- Flagler started the game scoring two runs, despite the Panthers' Sammy Murphy striking out the leadoff hitter.
- Tech did not freight rolling off four straight hits in the bottom of the first inning on two outs. Miranda Schwartz doubled then brought home by an Emma Chisholm single. The bases were cleared when Haley Rider launched her first home run of the season.
- Murphy settled in striking out another batter on her way to allowing zero runs in the second.
- Mia Terito walked and moved two bases on ground outs before coming home on a Chloe Fariello single up the middle, putting Tech up 4-2.
- In the third, both teams hit singles but left runners on base.
- Back-to-back hits from Flagler in the fourth tied the score at four apiece.
- The Panthers broke the game open in the fifth on solo shots from Schwartz and Chisholm. Tech went up one more for the 7-4 advantage after Malaya Nelson doubled and Kate Rodel delivered another RBI with a. runner in scoring position.
- Murphy struck out one more before Fariello stepped in relief and struck out a batter to finish the sixth inning.
- With one out, Ella Niles and Fariello singled, setting up Chisholm for her first career grand slam as a Panther.
- Fariello fanned two in the bottom, including the final batter securing the Panthers 11-4 victory over the Saints.

- Tech's starting pitcher Kelsey Hahn waved the leadoff hitter then despite a single induced a foul out and ground out in the first.
- The Panthers scored three runs in the bottom of the first for the second consecutive game. Niles got on base via hit-by-pitch then sprinted home on an error by the Saints pitcher. After Chisholm singled, Sage Verkler doubled two RBI for her first hit of the season.
- Hahn held the Saints off the score board the following two innings and added two more strikeouts in the third.
- Despite two outs, Nelson singled through the left side and the next two batters walked to load the bases. Audrey Gurule's first career hit up past the third baseman gave Tech the 4-0 edge.
- The Saint answered with two straight singles and stolen base to put one run on the board.
- Flagler registered one hit and two strikeouts in the fifth and sixth innings.
- Not giving up the Saints get bases loaded with one out to start the seventh. Flagler cut the deficit to one on a fielder's choice and error by the Panthers defense.
- However, Hahn battled and forced a popout to shortstop to win the game 4-3.

- Emma Chisholm backs up her strong Gulf Shores appearance by going 4-for-7 with three runs, two home runs, including a grand slam and 5 RBI
- Malaya Nelson went 3-for-7 with a double
- Miranda Schwartz also went 3-for-7 with a double but also had three runs, two RBI, and a home run.
- Haley Rider sparked the Panther offense in game one with her two-run shot for one of her two hits.
- Kelsey Hahn earned her second win of the season while pitching seven innings and striking out six batters.
- Kate Rodel and Sage Verkler each doubled in the games they played with a combined three RBI.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Tech moves in front in the all-times series with an 20-19 record.
- Since the start of the 2016 season, the Panthers have won 12 of 16 matchups with the Saints.
- Tech 13-6 all-time at home against Flagler, having won eight of nine meetings at Nancy Bottle Field since the start of 2016.
- Chisholm's two moon shot game was the first by a Panther at Nancy Bottge Field since Vanessa Rubio on February 14, 2020, versus Florida Southern.
- The transfer is also the first Panther to have 5 RBI in a single game at home since Mikayla Lewin in both games of a doubleheader against Emory & Henry on March 8, 2022.
- Her grand slam is the first Panther at Nancy Bottge Field to do so since Tori Szrom on February 15, 2020, versus Florida Southern.
