MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Florida Tech women's lacrosse team defeats No. 20 Grand Valley State on Tuesday, Mar. 10. With the 12-6 win, Florida Tech picks up their third win of the season.

GAME NOTES
FIRST QUARTER
- Gillian Craig scored the game's first goal off an assist by Phoebe Hurt. The goal came off a free position attempt after Aubrey Zaun drew a foul.
- Grand Valley State tied the score at 1-1 after forcing a Panther turnover.
- A save by Bridget Robinson turned into a successful clear and into a Tech goal as Clare McGuire found Abby Cudzilo to give FT the lead.
- Both teams were unable to find any offense after the early goals. Bridget Robinson played great inside the crease as she saved three shots at the 9:09, 6:19 and 5:40 marks.
- Robinson would keep the Lakers in check as she saved a free position shot to retain the 2-1 going into the second quarter.
- Robinson saved five shots in the period.
SECOND QUARTER
- The Tech offense was jumpstarted by a Sofie Bender unassisted goal with 10:33 remaining.
- Shortly after, Michaela Wittman won a draw control which led into another Panther score as Clare McGuire shot one passed the Laker goalie.
- The momentum stayed on the Panther sideline as Abbie Ogren forced a Laker turnover. She secured the groundball which led to a successful clear by Tech.
- Bender would strike again for her second goal of the quarter off an assist by Cudzilo.
- Robinson would save two shots after as the Panthers shutout GVSU in the second quarter and went into half with the lead.
- Tech dominated the quarter as they won all four draw controls, saved three shots and were a perfect 5-for-5 in clears.
THIRD QUARTER
- Gillian Craig extended the Tech run to 6-0 with a goal within the first 30 seconds of the second half.
- GVSU finally stopped the bleeding with a Laker goal at the 12:37 mark.
- A yellow card was earned by the Lakers and later turned into a goal for Gillian Craig off an assist by Isa Brown.
- Grand Valley State would force the Panthers into a turnover which led to a goal on offense.
- Tech continued their dominance in draw controls as they won four out of five in the quarter.
FOURTH QUARTER
- Craig's big day on offense continued with her fifth goal of the game to give Tech a 9-4 lead with 10 minutes remaining in the game.
- The lakers would hit back-to-back goals to shrink the Tech lead to 9-6.
- Phoebe Hurt responded with back-to-back goals of her own as she connected with Abby Cudzilo who assisted both goals.
- Sofie Bender put the game out of reach with one final goal with 2:22 left to play.

The Panthers will now get a 15-day break before starting Sunshine State Conference play. Tech will begin SSC play on Wednesday, Mar. 25 as they take on Palm Beach Atlantic at Rick Stottler Field.
