VIERA, Fla. – While the offense continues to put up runs, the defense did not hold up in two losses to Winona State and No. 11 Indianapolis. Despite two losses, the Panthers saw history when
Miranda Schwartz crushed a grand slam breaking the programs all-time career record.
GAME ONE:

STATS OF THE GAME:
- Florida Tech and Winona State opened the game scoreless in the first inning, highlighted by the Panthers catching a runner stealing at second to erase a leadoff hit-by-pitch and keep the Warriors off the board.
- Tech struck first in the second inning with Ella Niles dropping down an RBI bunt single, Audrey Gurule later stole home, and Schwartz followed with an RBI single through the left side to give Florida Tech a 3–0 lead.
- Winona State answered in the third with a five-run inning, highlighted by a two-run double followed by back-to-back dingers, flipping the game in the Warriors' favor at 5–3.
- The Warriors added to their lead in the fourth with another two-run home run, extending the advantage to 7–3 despite a Gurule single in the bottom half for Tech.
- In the fifth inning, Chloe Fariello entered the circle and limited the damage, stranding two runners and keeping the Panthers within striking distance.
- Winona State pushed the lead further in the sixth, delivering a two-run homer to right center, making it 9–3.
- The Warriors added one more in the seventh on an RBI single.
- The Panthers mounted a late push when Emma Chisholm blasted a three-run home run to center field, scoring Niles and Fariello. The rally cut the deficit to four, but Florida Tech ultimately fell 10-6.

STATS OF THE GAME:
- Both teams opened the game with a pitchers' duel through the first two innings, highlighted by multiple strikeouts and neither side recorded a hit early.
- The Panthers broke through in the third inning when Schwartz delivered the biggest swing of the game, launching a grand slam to right field after hits from Niles and Fariello and a hit-by-pitch to Mia Terito, giving Tech a 4-0 advantage
- Indianapolis threatened in the bottom of the third with two walks, but the Panthers stranded both runners, keeping the four-run advantage intact.
- Niles drew a walk and stole second in the fifth, but Indianapolis escaped the inning to keep the deficit at four.
- The momentum swung dramatically in the bottom of the fifth when the Greyhounds capitalized on defensive miscues, scoring six runs ro take a 6-4 lead.
- Indianapolis added insurance in the sixth inning on a two-RBI single, extending the Greyhounds' lead to 8-4.
- Tech mounted a late push in the seventh with three consecutive hits, including an RBI double from Jillian Moeller that scored Malaya Nelson, but the rally stalled and the Panthers ultimately fell 8-5.
NOTABLE PANTHERS:
- Miranda Schwartz tallied two hits with one massive grand slam against No. 11 Indianapolis.
- Ella Niles went 3-for-5 with an RBI and two stolen bases.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- First ever meeting between Tech and both opponents
- Tech is 16-6 at the USSSA Space Coast Complex.
- Tech is 219-125-1 against non-SSC opponents under Val Silvestrini
- Schwartz's grand slam broke the Panthers program record for career home runs with her 21st of her career. The record was held by Jennifer Dixon for over 24 years!
- Chisholm's nine home runs is tied for second most in a season by a Panther with Courtney Harless, Megan Hube and Hailey Leonard.
