GAME NOTES:
- To begin this afternoon's contest, Jacob Pino took the ball and struck out the side in the top of the first.
- Pino's electric start to his outing continued into the second inning as he struck out two more Cougars.
- The Panthers struck first in the bottom of the second when Tyler McClanahan came around to score after roping a two-out double.
- While Sioux Falls earned a few hits, but Pino picked off two runners at second and racked up more strikeouts.
- In the bottom of the fourth, Gabe Roque smashed his sixth home run of the year to give Tech a 2-0 lead.
- Jacob Pino's day came to an end after the sixth inning, completing his outing without giving up a run and setting a new career high with 12 strikeouts.
- After a shutout inning in relief by Reilly Kuhar, Dylan Fatovich led off the bottom of the seventh with a triple but was left stranded, and the lead remained at 2-0 Panthers.
- Kuhar kept the Cougars off the board again in the top of the eighth and in the bottom half of the inning, the Panthers loaded the bases to add insurance runs. Dylan Fatovich earned an RBI walk to help Tech take a 3-0 advantage into the ninth inning.
- Blake Holshouser entered the game and finished the job to get the Panthers back in the win column.

- Jacob Pino's 12 strikeouts not only sets his career high, but is the most by a Panther since Ty Cohen in May of 2018.
- Gabe Roque has now homered in three of the Panthers last five games.
UP NEXT: The Panthers and Cougars will face off again tomorrow for games two and three of the four-game set. First pitch of Saturday's doubleheader is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
