VIERA, Fla. – Florida Tech softball won two games at the USSSA Softball Complex in different ways on Friday night. The offense exploded for an 8-6 win over Goldey-Beacom and then pitching was the difference in a 3-0 victory against Findlay.

- Goldey-Beacom struck first in the opening inning, using a single and two Panther errors to plate an unearned run for a 1–0 lead.
- Tech answered immediately in the bottom half, as Chloe Fariello reached and Miranda Schwartz later scored on Emma Chisholm's RBI groundout to tie the game at 1–1.
- Both teams were quiet over the next two innings, with the Panthers stranding Kate Rodel in the second and the Lightning leaving a runner aboard in the third.
- Tech broke the tie in the third inning when Emma Chisholm launched a two-run homer to left center, scoring Schwartz and giving the Panthers a 3–1 advantage.
- Goldey-Beacom threatened in the fourth with two runners on, but the Panthers worked out of the jam to keep the Lightning off the scoreboard.
- Tech added three more runs in the fourth, capitalizing on Lightning errors before Chisholm delivered again with a two-run double to extend the lead to 6–1.
- The Lightning rallied in the fifth, recording six hits and pushing across three runs to trim the Panthers' lead to 6–5.
- Tech responded in the bottom of the inning, as Brooklyn Lorenzo doubled home a run and Jillian Moeller followed with an RBI single to stretch the advantage to 8–5.
- Goldey-Beacom tried to mount a late comeback in the seventh, scoring once on a Panther error and loading the bases with two outs but Kelsey struck out the final batter for her first career save.
- The Panthers closed the door, getting a strikeout to secure the 8–6 victory.

STATS OF THE GAME:
- Florida Tech jumped ahead in the opening inning, as Fariello walked, stole second and third, and then swiped home.
- Schwartz later crossed the plate on Haley Rider's RBI groundout to give the Panthers an early 2–0 advantage.
- Sammy Murphy set the tone in the circle, striking out three Oilers in the first inning to strand two runners and keep Findlay off the scoreboard.
- The Panthers added another run in the third, when Fariello singled and stole second before Rider ripped an RBI double to center field to extend the lead to 3–0.
- Murphy continued to dominate, retiring the Oilers in order in both the second and third innings while piling up strikeouts and limiting Findlay's chances at the plate.
- Tech threatened again in the fourth, loading the bases after a pair of errors and a walk, but the Oilers escaped the inning without allowing a run.
- The Panthers put two more runners on in the fifth behind singles from Rider and Rodel, though Findlay worked out of the jam to keep the deficit at three.
- Murphy worked around traffic late, allowing a pair of singles in the sixth but shutting down the threat to preserve the shutout.
- Findlay placed one final runner aboard in the seventh, but Murphy closed the door with another strikeout to seal the 3–0 victory for the Panthers.
NOTABLE PANTHERS:
- Emma Chisholm tallied three hits across two games, including her eighth home run of the season.
- In Game One versus Goldey-Beacom, Miranda Schwartz went a perfect 3-for-3 and scored three runs.
- Chloe Fariello not only pitched a win against Goldey-Beacom, she also recorded two total hits and four stolen bases in the game against Findlay.
- Sammy Murphy was almost flawless, pitching a complete game shutout against Findlay, striking out eight and allowing just four hits.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Tech improves to 3-0 versus Goldey-Beacom and 4-0 versus Findlay.
- First meeting between Tech and Goldey-Beacom since the 1995 season opening doubleheader.Â
