ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Sammy Murphy delivered a strong performance in the circle and Florida Tech created multiple scoring chances, but the Panthers fell just short in a 2–0 battle with Eckerd.

STATS OF THE GAME:
- Miranda Schwartz doubled in the first but was tagged out at home on a Malaya Nelson single.
- In the circle, Murphy got the first two batters out easily before letting up a solo shot. She finished the first inning with a swinging strikeout.
- Murphy, in the second, made all three Triton batters swing and miss on strike three to punchout the side.
- Eckerd added another run in the third to take a 2–0 lead on a double to right center.
- Both the Eckerd and Tech offenses were held at bay in the fourth and fifth inning.
- Tech generated a chance in the sixth with Schwartz knocking another double followed by an Emma Chisholm walk. They would be left on second and third on a final strikeout.
- Despite Eckerd having two outs in the bottom of the sixth they loaded the bases before Murphy sat the last batter down on another swinging third strike.
- The Panthers went down in order in the seventh for the 2–0 lost at Eckerd.
