MELBOURNE, Fla. – Florida Tech women's soccer Head Coach Katy Freels has announced the promotion of Scott Wilson to the position of Associate Head Coach.
 
"Scott is an unbelievable coach and an even better person," said Head Coach Katy Freels. "There is no doubt that he is one of the brightest and most talented coaches in the country. The way he sees and understands the game is at such an elite level, but what makes him truly special is his ability to communicate ideas, connects with people and brings out the best in those around him."
 
Wilson enters his third season on the Panthers sideline in 2026. In his first two seasons, he has helped lead Tech to a 30-6-9 overall record, two SSC Tournament Championship Game appearances, one SSC Tournament Championship in 2024 and the programs first National Championship in 2025. 
 
"We are incredibly fortunate to have Scott s part of our Florida Tech family," said Freels. "He has been absolutely critical in our team's success over these past couple of years."
 
During his time with the Panthers, he has helped guide 18 scholar-athletes to All-SSC recognition including seven First-Team selections. Additionally, Wilson has coached eight D2CCA All-Region selections, nine USC All-Region selections, five All-Americans and the 2025 USC National Player of the Year, Sara Batchadji.
 
"Very thankful to Katy and Jamie for the opportunity and trust they've shown in me," said Wilson. "I'm excited about what we have and are continuing to build here at Tech, and I'm grateful to be a part of it. A lot of exciting things ahead!"
 
Prior to joining Florida Tech's sidelines, he previously served two seasons at Lake Erie College, where he held roles as assistant coach and interim head coach of the women's soccer program.
 
As a player, Scott graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Superior in 2022 with a double major in Business Administration and Sports Management & Coaching. A three-year team captain, he led the Yellowjackets to three UMAC Regular Season titles, three UMAC Tournament championships, and two NCAA Tournament appearances. Individually, he was a three-time All-UMAC First Team selection, two-time All-Wisconsin Second Team honoree, All-Region selection, and the 2021 UMAC Defensive Player of the Year.
 
Wilson and the Florida Tech women's soccer team will return to the pitch on Thursday, Sept. 3 as they take on No. 11 Ashland at 7 p.m.
