MELBOURNE, Fla. – Florida Tech is proud to announce a new partnership with Koomba, the first digital health platform built for the next generation of athletes. Together, Florida Tech and Koomba will expand resources for Scholar-Athletes through individualized and group-based support that integrates sports psychology, nutrition, and mental performance coaching.
This collaboration highlights Tech's commitment to developing scholar-athletes for the long term, ensuring Panthers have the tools to thrive in competition, in the classroom, and post-graduation.
Through Koomba's platform, Panthers will connect with a network of 200+ credentialed, peer-vetted performance and nutrition specialists, many of whom are former athletes, and currently work with athletes across the professional, Olympic, and Power 4 ranks. The support includes 1:1 coaching sessions and team-based programming designed to build stronger habits, sharper performance, and skills that carry well past graduation.
"As we've continued to invest in scholar-athlete wellbeing, we've learned that mental wellness is often influenced by far more than a single event or circumstance, said Director of Athletics,
Jamie Joss. "Performance anxiety, confidence, injury recovery, nutrition, academic pressures, and the day-to-day demands of college athletics all play a role in the overall scholar-athlete experience. That's why Florida Tech has focused on building a proactive model of support, one that helps scholar-athletes develop skills, habits, and resources before challenges escalate.
"Long before mental health standards became an NCAA requirement for Division II institutions, we made this a priority in 2022 beginning with Training the Complete providing mental wellness counseling resources, and now this partnership with Koomba provides this proactive approach coupled with our university student affairs partnership with TalkCampus, which provides 24/7 peer support and access to clinician care when necessary. This gives our scholar-athletes access to specialized experts in mental performance, nutrition, and athlete development. Together, these resources will help our scholar-athletes thrive as scholars, champions, leaders, and in life.
"Russ Chase, Co-Founder, GTM & Growth at Koomba, added: "Our coaches are actively working with athletes at the pro, Olympic, and Power 5 level right now, and Florida Tech scholar-athletes get access to that same coaching. We built Koomba to close the gap between what pro athletes have access to and what everyone else gets, always putting athletes at the center of an organization's decision making. We're proud to support Florida Tech scholar-athletes at every stage of their athletic journey."
This collaboration with Florida Tech comes as Koomba continues to expand its work across the full spectrum of athlete performance, from youth sports organizations to high school and academy programs, college athletic departments, and national governing bodies. Koomba supports more than 50,000 athletes across its partner networks.
