DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The Florida Tech men's soccer team hit the road for the first time in the 2026 season on Monday afternoon as they faced #7 North Georgia in a regional matchup. The 90 minutes in the Georgia heat saw a cagey affair dominated by defense as the Panthers earned a point thanks to a goalless draw.

GAME NOTES:

• The teams traded free kicks over the first 12 minutes before the Nighthawks registered the game's first shot, which went wide left of goal.

• UNG's next opportunity came in the 23rd minute with a shot that was blocked in the penalty area before it could reach its target.

• Three minutes later, Elias Ronning Orn's goal was threatened once again, only for the shot to go just to the right of goal.

• The Panthers' first shot would come in the 29th minute, only for Matteo Tzimas' attempt to be knocked away by the foot of a UNG defender.

• William Kennedy would get a chance to break the ice three minutes later but his attempt sailed just over the frame.

• North Georgia had an opportunity of their own sky over the bar with just over 10 minutes left in the half.

• A cross to the back post in the 37th minute had the potential to put Tech behind but the shot on the end of the cross was rushed and skied over the goal.

• The first half concluded with neither team registering a shot on goal.

• The Crimson and Gray had the first shot of the second half when Paulo Manaia's effort was denied by a Nighthawk defender three minutes in.

• The game's first shot on target would come in the 55th minute when a UNG shot from well outside the area was easily dealt with by Ronning Orn.

• During Tech's ensuing possession, they would register their first shot on goal with Nikoal Gabrielsen's effort saved.

• Kacper Goscinarek attempted to beat the keeper at his near post with a free kick in the 64th minute but the attempt went just wide.

• A wild sequence with just over 12 minutes to play nearly saw a Francesco Micheli header put the Crimson and Gray ahead but the ball bounced just out to the right as it appeared destined for the goal.

• The remainder of the game saw both teams press into the opposing attacking third but were unable to break the defense and create a quality chance for a winner as both teams would register just one shot on goal for the whole of the game.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:

• The game saw 18 fouls committed by both teams and a combined 10 yellow cards with seven issue to North Georgia.

• The all-time series between the schools now stands at 2-2-1. This was the first meeting in Dahlonega since September 9, 2007.

• Florida Tech is now 22-12-5 in their first road game of the season since 1987 and unbeaten in their last 12.

• The Panthers are now 23-13-7 all-time against the PBC.
