Women's Soccer Notches Six Goals from Six Different Panthers Route of Lynn

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Tech women's soccer team defeated Lynn 6-2 on Wednesday, Sept. 23 with the help of six goals from six different Panthers. In addition, this is the most goals scored in an away Sunshine State Conference match in program history.

GAME NOTES
  • The Panthers were immediately on the attack from the first whistle as Ellinor Blaasternes fired the first shot in the first 30 seconds that was stopped by Lynn's keeper.
  • Aggressive play by both sides saw Florida Tech and Lynn combine for five penalties within the first 13 minutes.
  • Tech took the lead in the 15th minute as Ellinor Blaasternes went top shelf after a ball got away from a Lynn defender. This was Blaasternes' second goal of the season. 
  • Mette Brandes kept the Panthers ahead with a save late in the 15th minute.
  • In the 19th minute, Lynn's keeper kicked a ball to midfield to counter the Panthers previous attack. Iselin Brualokken was positioned perfectly as she kicked the ball out of the air and up the field where Eboni Bradshaw beat her defender and scored her sixth goal of the season. 
  • Florida Tech was awarded a corner in the 38th minute. Alice Mottershead got a shot off on goal, but the Fighting Knights keeper earned the save.
  • Mette Brandes notched her fourth save in goal late in the first to preserve the Panther lead heading into half. 
  • The Fighting Knights scored a minute out of halftime to trim the deficit to 2-1.
  • In the 52nd minute, the Panthers scored off a corner kick where Rio Naganawa was in the box, ready to cash in on the opportunity.
  • Tech stayed aggressive as they earned corners in the 54th and 56th minutes. Marina Amorim scored for the first time in her collegiate career off an assist from Alice Mottershead.
  • Izzie Bromage and Lotte Waibel put shots on goal in minutes 62 and 65. Both shots were saved.
  • The Panthers added their fifth goal of the night as Eboni Bradshaw chipped a ball over the Lynn defenders, right to Iselin Brualokken who headed the ball into the back of the net.
  • Lynn responded with a goal in the 79th minute as a Fighting Knight pass went over a Panther defender and to a Lynn player who snuck it by Brandes in goal.
  • Four minutes later, Maria Rojas scored in the 83rd minute and became the sixth different Panther to score in the match.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
  • Tech's six goals are the most goals scored in an away Sunshine State Conference match in program history.
  • Florida Tech notched six goals from six different Panthers (Blaasternes, Bradshaw, Naganawa, Brualokken, Amorim and Rojas)
  • Tech's 15 points is the second most in a game this season.
  • Bradshaw, Brualokken and Mottershead tallied assists.
