Panthers and Tritons End in a Well-Played Draw

MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Florida Tech women's soccer team emerged with a 1-1 draw against Eckerd on Saturday, Sept. 26. With the tie, Florida Tech is now 7-0-2 (2-0-2 SSC) while the Tritons are 4-2-4 (1-0-3 SSC).

GAME NOTES
  • Eckerd took advantage on a Florida Tech foul as they gain possession and fired a shot on goal where Mette Brandes was there to make the save.
  • Some great passing from Izzie Bromage and Eboni Bradshaw led to the panthers first goal where Iselin Brualokken beat the Triton keeper to give the Panthers the lead.
  • In the 22nd minute, Eckerd just missed out on tying the match as the Triton's shot hit the left woodwork, followed by the Panthers clear.
  • The Triton's earned a corner in the 28th minute the led to a shot that missed high. 
  • Alice Mottershead put a shot on goal in the 32nd minute right at the keeper for a save.
  • With a minute left, Eckerd earned their fourth corner of the half, but a foul on the Triton's would give possession back to the Panthers.
  • Remaining on attack out of the half, Eckerd was rewarded corners in the 46th and 49th minutes that were both well defended and not resulting in shots.
  • The Panthers returned the favor and earned back-to-back corners in the 50th and 53rd minutes. Lyneth Restrepo Sanchez powered a shot over the net while Izzie Bromage's shot was block by an Eckerd defender.
  • Eckerd had another nice look at the Panthers goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the left frame of the goal post for the second time in the match.
  • Florida Tech saw the same fate as Iselin Brualokken hit the top crossbar in the 70th minute to keep the Tech lead at one.
  • Brualokken and Mottershead had shots that were saved by Eckerd in the 71st and 74th minutes.
  • In the 79th minute, Eckerd was able to hit the equalizer as the Triton's first shot was saved by Mette Brandes. The ball bounced away where the Eckerd attacker was able to get a second shot off that got by the Panther defense and into the goal.
  • Tech notched three more shots that missed their mark in the 80th, 81st and 85th minutes as both teams settled with a well-played draw.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
  • Iselin Brualokken scored her third goal of her freshman campaign.
  • Eboni Bradshaw earned her sixth assist of the season while Izzie Bromage picked up her first. 
  • The Panthers only record four shots on goal against Eckerd which is the second lowest mark of the season.
UP NEXT
The Panthers will return home to Rick Stottler Field on Wednesday, Sept. 30 as they take on the Embry-Riddle Eagles for the Karman Clash at 7 p.m.
