Florida Tech Panthers

2010: Played 43 games and started 34…stroked 42 hits, including seven doubles and one home run…recorded 25 RBIs and crossed the plate 22 times…held the fifth highest batting average on the team (.302)…held a solid .374 slugging percentage and a .380 on-base percentage…drew 14 walks and was 9-for-11 in the stolen base department…did not commit a single error as he posted a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage…strung together a five-game hitting streak (4/13-4/17)…went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and one run scored in 4-3 win over Nova Southeastern University (2/26).  

2009: Appeared in seven games…went 1-for-8 at the plate with an RBI and a run scored…walked twice and recorded three putouts in the field without an error for a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage.

Florida Tech: Played in 15 games as a freshman in the outfield and as a designated hitter, starting seven of those... had his biggest game of the season against West Virginia Wesleyan, going 3-for-5 with five RBIs in the win.

High School: Graduated from Nova Davie High School, home of the Titans, earning four letters in baseball and three in football… hit .392 as a senior with 22 stolen bases and 25 runs… was named a Broward and Miami Herald Scholar Athlete and a Brian Piccollo Scholar Athlete… his team won two baseball State Championships... also played club ball for the Boca Orioles for a year.

Personal: Ben was born on January 15, 1989 and is the son of Richard and Carolee Scheffer... he is an engineering major and chose to attend Florida Tech because he wanted to stay in Florida and still play baseball... his goals for the future are to graduate, get a good job and to keeping playing baseball.
