Florida Tech Panthers

Alex Carpenter HS

Alex Carpenter

Alex Carpenter enters his fourth season as an assistant coach with the Florida Tech baseball program in 2027, continuing a strong transition from standout scholar-athlete to coach. He was officially hired in January 2023 after spending the fall of 2022 as a volunteer assistant, quickly earning a full-time role on Head Coach Jeff Tam’s staff.

In his first full season on staff, Carpenter helped guide the Panthers to a 23–26 record, highlighted by a series win over #12 Wingate. He played a key role in the development of the pitching staff, including Danny Vassallo, who finished with the seventh-lowest ERA in the Sunshine State Conference, allowing just 29 runs over 69.1 innings.

The 2026 season saw one of the best years of Panther pitching in recent years. Under Carpenter's leadership, multiple Panthers had standout seasons and performances. Jacob Pino was named SSC Pitcher of the Week and NCBWA South Region Pitcher of the Week twice, and Hunter Stolov led the nation in strikeout-to-walk ratio (15-1).

Carpenter’s impact is rooted in his accomplished playing career at Florida Tech. In his final season in 2022, he logged 25 innings on the mound, recorded six saves, struck out 22 batters, and held opponents to a .187 batting average. He concluded his career with a 2.91 ERA, 13 saves, and 44 strikeouts, while allowing just two doubles and no triples or home runs.

A standout both on the field and in the classroom, Carpenter became the first player in program history to be named a CoSIDA Academic All-American.

Carpenter earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a concentration in Neuropsychology from Florida Tech in May 2021 and completed his Master of Business Administration in 2025
