Nick DeTringo joined the Florida Tech Baseball coaching staff in July of 2026. Entering his first season as an assistant coach, DeTringo is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the program and recruiting, while also running the offense and infield.
DeTringo comes to Florida Tech from Division I North Carolina A&T, where he spent the 2026 season leading the Aggies offense and serving as an assistant recruiting coordinator. Prior to NCA&T, DeTringo spent three seasons at Division III Greensboro College as the program's Associate Head Coach. While with the Pride, he built the No. 6-ranked NCAA Division III recruiting class nationally, directed one of the nation's premier Division III offenses, leading consecutive record-setting seasons and rewriting the program record book in virtually every major offensive category. The Pride offense under DeTringo finished among the nation's leaders in batting average, runs scored, hits, doubles, slugging percentage, on-base percentage, OPS, RBI, and total bases, while leading NCAA Division III in doubles and doubles per game. He also oversaw the development of Evan Sykes, the Prides' first All-American player in over a decade. DeTringo began his coaching career at his alma mater, the University of Tampa. From 2021-2022 he served as an assistant coach in charge of infield development and recruiting.
As a player for the Spartans, DeTringo won the 2019 Division II National Championship and was named to the Division II All-Championship, South Region All-Region, and SSC All-Conference teams. He slashed .321/.507/.898 during his career, accumulating 140 hits, 25 doubles, 18 home runs, and 89 RBI. DeTringo graduated from the University of Tampa in 2019 with a degree in Allied Health. Following his collegiate career, DeTringo signed with the Ottawa Champions in the Canadian-American Professional Baseball Association in 2019. In his lone season, he totaled 27 hits, 9 RBI and earned a "Can-Am Player of the Week" award.
Originally from Tampa, Florida, DeTringo graduated from the University of Tampa with a BS in Allied Health.
