DeMario Robinson is in his fifth season as an assistant coach on the Florida Tech men’s basketball staff in 2016-17.
As lead assistant, Robinson has routinely worked nonstop with Florida Tech’s guards, and as recently as 2015-16 saw both Patrick Anderson and Jermohn Queen both finish among the Top-10 in the Sunshine State Conference in assists per game.
Robinson was also influencial in the postseason honors of former Florida Tech standout Jermaine Jackson. Jackson led the Panthers in scoring and was second in the SSC in 2013-14, earning All-SSC First Team honors and NABC South District Second Team honors. In addition, Chris Carter finished in the Top-10 nationally in assists per game that same season.
Robinson started his coaching career in 2012-13 after a two-year career as a guard for current head coach Billy Mims.
During his final season at Florida Tech, Robinson helped guide the Panthers to the school’s first-ever outright SSC Regular Season Championship. The squad finished 23-7 overall and 12-4 in the SSC. A win in the first round of the NCAA Tournament over conference foe Saint Leo University was the second tournament win in school history.
Robinson graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration in December 2012. He then earned his MBA in May, 2015.
