Florida Tech Panthers

Zach Wynne

Zach Wynne was promoted to Assistant Coach and Offensive Coordinator of the Florida Tech men's lacrosse team in July 2021. He previously served as a volunteer assistant coach during the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons. He enters his sixth season overall with the Panthers for 2025.

Over the 2023 and 2024 seasons, the Panthers achieved a 13-16 overall record. Following the 2024 season, the program earned its first-ever SSC Freshman of the Year in Joe Coveleski. Tech also placed five members on the All-SSC teams, highlighted by first-team selection Ricky Fedorchak who went on to be named a USA Lacrosse and USILA All-American and USILA Scholar All-American and CSC Academic All-American. Tech earned the three-seed heading into the SSC Tournament.

In 2023, the Panthers saw four members earn All-SSC honors, highlighted by a first-team selection in Sam Balch. Balch was also honored with All-South Region laurels from USILA and named a USILA All-American.

In 2022, Wynne assisted in leading the Panthers to a record of 10-6, including a 5-2 mark in the SSC. Florida Tech defeated three ranked opponents during the regular season and clinched the No. 4 seed in the 2021 SSC Tournament. Six Panthers were named to the All-SSC teams, Zach Rozgonyi, Justin Williams, and Sam Balch earned first-team honors, while Austin Engeler and Josh Vetter were selected to the season team. Jakob Terpak earned a spot on the All-Freshman team. Rozgonyi, Williams, Balch, and Vetter were also honored with All-South Region laurels from USILA. MacArthur produced two USILA All-Americans in Williams and Balch.

During his time as a volunteer, the men’s lacrosse team’s offensive output continued to improve each season with Wynne on the staff. The Panthers went from averaging 11.13 goals and 5.13 assists per game during the 2020 season to 12.5 goals and 7.25 assists per game in 2021. In addition to his duties as offensive coordinator these two seasons, Wynne also oversaw recruiting, player development, and coordinating with alumni and parents to organize team events and banquets.

Before joining the Florida Tech staff in 2019-20, Wynne spent some time “down under” in 2018 and worked with QuickStix Lacrosse, based in Melbourne, Australia, as a coach and trainer. In this role, he ran training sessions with primary and second school students and worked on the coaching staff for Under-15 and Under-13 travel teams around the Melbourne area. Additionally, Wynne played professionally in Australia for the Williamstown Pro Lacrosse Team in 2018.

Wynne, an alumnus of Florida Tech, quarterbacked the Panther offense during his lone season playing for the program in 2015. He was named to the All-SSC Second Team that year after setting the program’s single-season points record with 54 points on 27 goals and 27 assists and guiding Tech to a 12-4 record and a spot in the Sunshine State Conference championship game.

Wynne is a co-owner of Big Wave Lacrosse, a youth development program on the Space Coast. He also served as a coach for the Landsharks Lacrosse Club in 2015-16 and at Melbourne Central Catholic High School in 2016.

Wynne graduated from Florida Tech in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in communications.
