Biography
2014: Appeared in seven games, starting seven at goal… team best 71 saves… 1-6 overall record and 0-2 in SSC action… 15 saves in first career start at FIT as the Panthers nearly upset Queens University of Charlotte (March 1)… followed with 14 saves versus Wheeling Jesuit University in a 12-11 loss (March 8)… both teams ended the season ranked in the top 15 nationally… 15 saves against Catawba College (March 10)… 11 saves in first SSC game of the season (March 14 versus Saint Leo University)… earned first win of Panther career at Brevard College… forced one turnover and collected 11 ground balls… ended the season with a .500 saves percentage in 356.49 minutes played.
Alderson-Broaddus: Goalkeeper for one season at Alderson-Broaddus University in Philippi, W.Va… appeared in eight games, starting five… 2013 Division II All-American nominee and named to ECAC All-Academic Team… 25 saves against then No. 1. Mercyhurst University… made 105 saves in eight games.
High School: Earned four varsity lacrosse letters and three football letters for Bethel Park High School in Bethal Park, Pa… graduated with a 3.5 GPA… named Blackhawks’ lacrosse MVP in 2011 and 2012 and was the Defensive Player of the Year in 2012… named to all-conference team in senior year (football).
Club: Six-year member of Pittsburgh Lacrosse.
Personal: Son of Jeffrey and Marylee Hayes… has two older siblings, Whitney and Taylor and a younger brother, Spencer… uncle Jay played college football at Idaho State and in the National Football League before becoming the defensive lines coach of the Cincinnati Bengals… uncle John played college football at Iowa and was an NFL veteran for the Kansas City Chiefs and the 1995 Super Bowl participant Pittsburgh Steelers and later was named the tight ends coach for the Bengals… cousin Jesse plays football at the University of Wisconsin and cousin Jazmin is a letterwinner for Lafayette University women’s basketball team… wants to work for a professional or collegiate lacrosse and/or football college/team… chose Florida Tech because it gave him the best opportunity to succeed both athletically and academically… admires his parents because they are the strongest people he knows.
