Sport Responsibilities: Men's Soccer, Men's Lacrosse
Nigel Maven was hired as Florida Tech’s Assistant Athletic Trainer in Fall 2020.
Prior to coming to Florida Tech, Maven served as an athletic trainer at Action Physical Therapy in Palm Beach, Florida, from August 2019 to June 2020. His role with the institution was to provide outreach to Palm Beach Atlantic student-athletes in addition to working with physical therapy patients that had musculoskeletal injuries, post-operative conditions and sports injuries.
From 2017 to 2019, Maven worked at Long Island University-Brooklyn as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer where he provided coverage for the women’s swim team, in addition to working in a secondary role with other sports. He graduated from LIU-Brooklyn with a master’s degree in exercise science in May 2019.
Maven was an assistant athletic trainer at Central High School in Pueblo, Colorado from January 2015 to June 2017. He also provided athletic training services at Fountain Fort Carson High School, Pueblo Bone & Joint, and the Pro Therapy Parkview Family Care while finishing up his bachelor's degree in athletic training at Colorado State University-Pueblo, where he graduated in May of 2015.
While earning his degree at CSU-Pueblo, Maven assisted in providing services to numerous teams, including women’s soccer, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s track & field, men’s lacrosse and the Division II National Championship football team.
Maven has earned an abundance of certifications throughout his career. Currently, Maven is CPR/AED certified with the American Red Cross, Board of Certification Athletic Trainer Certified, a Florida Licensed Athletic Trainer, a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Corrective Exercise Specialist, and a NASM Performance Enhancement Specialist.
