Florida Tech Panthers

2013: Appeared in 24 matches, starting three... registered 130 digs, 21 service aces and 47 assists... finished with 12 digs vs. American International in the Pace Setters Classic (9/13), a career-high and added two service aces... recorded two or more service aces in six games and reached double figures in digs in two games... first ever dig came vs. Eckerd College at Palm Bay HS Gymnasium (10/25) and added eight digs, two service aces for 3.0 points.

High School: Lettered four seasons for the Oxnard Yellow Jackets in Calif… graduated with a 3.8 GPA… two-time Pacific View League Champion (2009 and 2012)… set the school record for most digs in a single season… named MVP of the PVL in 2012 and earned first team all-league honors in 2011-12, first team all-county in 2012 and second team all-league in 2010.

Club: Played five years for the Rincon VBC in Ventura, Calif… team finished fifth in the championship division at the 2013 Volleyball Festival which was held in Phoenix, Ariz.

Personal: Daughter of Romel and Carol Balan… has three older brothers, Matthew, Davis and Russel… chose FIT because it was a perfect location to study environmental science… wants to become an environmental scientist and travel to new places around the world.
