Panthers Conclude Crossover with Victories over Lee and West Georgia

FIT picks up three wins against GSC opponents at South Region Crossover

ORLANDO, Fla. (Volleyball) - The Florida Tech volleyball team (5-11) concluded the South Region Crossover, presented by Junior's Catering, on Saturday by earning a pair of victories over Lee (8-9) and West Georgia (4-17). 

The Panthers finished with a perfect 3-0 record against the Gulf South Conference over the weekend, including a sweep of Mississippi College on Friday. 

FIT earned the victory over Lee with set scores of 25-18, 25-23, 20-25 and 25-17. The Panthers outhit the Flames .228 to .155 and collected more blocks in the match 10-3.

Olivia Hersey guided the Crimson & Gray at the net with 16 kills and five total blocks. Jenna Schaffer notched a double-double with 12 kills and 15 digs. Kiayna O'Neal added eight kills, while Kelly Germain collected eight kills to go along with seven digs. 

Kiersten Rosa dished out a season-best 45 assists in addition to recording 12 digs and six kills. Becca Bower led all players with a season-high 34 digs. 

Silvia Sartori paced the Flames with 11 kills and 14 digs, while Brooke Wilsman collected 10 kills. Sadie Johnson recorded 25 assists and 10 digs and MaKayla Beebe added a team-best 20 digs. 

In their second match of the day, the Panthers defeated West Georgia in straight sets 25-11, 25-17 and 25-19, while outhitting the Wolves .272 to .114. 

Hersey led FIT with a match-high 13 kills and five digs. Germain and Schaffer added eight and six kills, respectively.

Rosa initiated the Panther offense with 32 assists, while Becca Bower led all players with 16 digs. 

Paige Berriochoa finished with nine kills for the Wolves. Autumn Burnette and Lindsey Thomas added five and four kills, respectively. Madi Fleming led UWG with 13 assists. Devon Dickey and Haylea Mannebach collected nine and eight digs, apiece.
