MELBOURNE, Fla. (Volleyball) – Facing No. 12 Palm Beach Atlantic (26-3) for the second day in a row Florida Tech (6-20) was unable to post a different result against the Sailfish at the Clemente Center, as the Panthers lost in straight sets Friday night (25-16, 25-23, 25-12).
FIT recorded 34 kills and 20 errors during the match for an attack rate of .126, while the Sailfish notched 41 kills and just 10 errors on .320 hitting.
Jenna Schaffer and
Kiayna O'Neal collected seven kills apiece.
Heather Bowersox tallied five kills and accounted for the Panthers' only block of the match.
Kiersten Rosa finished with 18 assists, six kills and six digs, while
Becca Bower added 11 digs and four assists.
Sheila Villagrasa notched eight digs and seven assists off the bench.
Ally Rohn led PBA with a double-double on 10 kills and 10 digs. Emma Ballantyne posted 10 kills and two block assists. Molly Burkhardt dished out 28 assists to go along with three kills and two service aces. Susie Forbes, Katie Ballantyne and Lauren Alberti each recorded 11 digs in the match.
