MELBOURNE, Fla. (Volleyball) – The Florida Tech volleyball team (7-20, 1-12 SSC) ended its 12-match winless streak in Sunshine State Conference action on Saturday, as the Panthers took down the Nova Southeastern Sharks (11-17, 3-10 SSC) in four sets at the Clemente Center (25-19, 21-25, 25-18, 25-23).
FIT posted a hit percentage of .242 with a season-high 61 kills and 23 errors, while NSU recorded 40 kills and 20 errors for an attack rate of .142.
Kelly Germain paced the Panthers with a team-high 16 kills and six digs.
Olivia Hersey collected 15 kills and a match-high five block assists.
Heather Bowersox tallied nine kills and three block assists, while
Jenna Schaffer notched nine kills, seven digs and three assists.
Kiayna O'Neal added eight kills to FIT's stat line.
Kiersten Rosa posted a double-double on a match-high 44 assists, 15 digs and five kills.
Becca Bower led all players with 19 digs to go along with three assists and two service aces.
Kyra Atkinson and
Sheila Villagrasa each recorded 11 digs in the match.
Denvyr Tyler-Palmer guided the Sharks with a match-best 17 kills, 14 digs and two block assists. Jessica Ronyak collected eight kills, five digs, four assists and three block assists. Katie Pyles dished out 27 assists in addition to 14 digs and five kills. Megan Burns finished with 13 digs and six assists.
