FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (Volleyball) – Squaring off with Sunshine State Conference foe Nova Southeastern (12-17, 4-10 SSC) for the second time in four days, Florida Tech (7-21, 1-13 SSC) was unable to produce another winning performance against the Sharks and fell 3-0 on the road Tuesday in Fort Lauderdale (25-13, 25-14, 25-16).
FIT finished with a hit rate of .009 on 27 kills and 26 attack errors. The Sharks posted 39 kills and only nine errors on .283 hitting for the match.
Kelly Germain collected a team-high seven kills and five digs for the Panthers.
Kiayna O'Neal recorded six kills and led FIT with a hit percentage of .357.
Olivia Hersey tallied five kills and three block assists.
Heather Bowersox added five kills.
Kiersten Rosa notched a double-double with 19 assists and 12 digs, while
Becca Bower picked up a match-high 21 digs.
Tashalyn Begon led all players with 12 kills and Denvyr Tyler-Palmer finished with eight kills, seven digs and three total blocks. Natalie Mercher collected a match-high nine total blocks. Katie Pyles dished out a match-best 29 assists to go along with nine digs and six kills. Megan Burns gathered 16 digs and three assists for the Sharks.
Florida Tech returns to the Clemente Center Thursday and Friday for its final matches of the season against Eckerd and Florida Southern.
