West Palm Beach, Fla. (Volleyball) - On Friday night, the Panthers had another hard match against the No.18 Palm Beach Atlantic. Florida Tech (5-16, SSC 2-11) had some close matches against the Sailfish, but were unable to earn the victory against the ranked opponent.
The Panthers concluded the match with a total of 30 kills on a 101 attempts for a hitting percentage of .139. Florida Tech also had 28 assists, 12 blocks and 38 digs to conclude the match.
Leading the Panthers defensively was senior
Kiersten Rosa who collected a total of 27 assists and moves to No. 9 in the Sunshine State Conference for most assists. Senior
Becca Bower tallied a total of 15 digs in the match to move to No. 8 in the SSC rankings.
Offensively, senior
Kelly Germain collected a total of 14 kills on 34 attempts for a hitting percentage of .294. With this performance, Germain now ranks No. 14 in the SSC rankings for most kills. Also, senior
Olivia Hersey and
Heather Bowersox register each six kills to conclude the match. Hersey also had seven blocks during the match and with this performance she now ranks No. 4 in the SSC rankings.
Next up, the Crimson and Gray will be back on the court tomorrow Oct. 13 against Nova Southeastern in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The match is set for 4:00 p.m. ET.
