BOCA RATON, Fla. - In their final regular season away match of the year, No. 15 Florida Tech men's soccer (9-3-0, 5-3-0 SSC) fell, 2-1, to the Fighting Knights of Lynn (10-3-0, 7-2-0 SSC).
Lynn dictated the pace in the first half as they outshot Florida Tech six to three. The Knights took advantage of their early momentum as they netted an early goal at the 18-minute mark.
However, the Panthers picked up the pace in the final 45 as they even the score at one apiece thanks to a
Luca Campanini (6) goal in the 67th minute. The two teams continued to trade shots until the end of the match.
The dagger came in the 78th minute as Lynn's Lukas Hombach beat the keeper off of a corner kick. This ended the nights scoring at 2-1.
FIT will finally head back home to Rick Stottler Field on Saturday, Oct. 20, as they will honor its senior members for their contributions to the program. The Sunshine State Conference showdown is set for 7 pm ET against Tampa.
