Orlando, Fla. (Volleyball) - On Saturday, the Panthers concluded day two of the South Region Crossover. Florida Tech (8-17, SSC 3-11) won both matches against Auburn- Montgomery and Mississippi College.
In the first match, the Panthers collected 44 kills on 119 attempts for a hitting percentage of .261. Florida Tech also had 40 assists, nine serve aces, 11 blocks and 63 digs.
In the second match, the Panthers tallied 59 kills, 54 assists, nine serve aces, 14 blocks and 95 digs.
Offensively, in the first match, senior
Kiersten Rosa collected 33 assists, two serve aces, three blocks and seven digs. Rosa in match two tallied an impressive 39 assists. Senior
Becca Bower,
Sheila Villagrasa and
Kyra Atkinson registered a combine 33 digs on the victory. Bower in the second match tallied a total of 26 digs and Villagrasa earned 14 digs to win the match.
Defensively, freshman
Maddalena Fairchild collected a season high 10 kills on 17 attempts for a hitting percentage of .412. Senior
Olivia Hersey collected 15 kills on 26 attempts for an impressive hitting percentage of .538. In the second match, senior
Kelly Germain registered 17 kills on 39 attempts for a .282 hitting percentage. Senior
Heather Bowersox,
Audrey Keenan and Hersey collected a combine 34 kills to help the Panthers earn the victory.
Next up, the Crimson and Gray will be back on the Oct. 26 against Florida Southern at Melbourne, Fla. The match is set for 7:00 p.m. ET.
