Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

No. 24 Panthers Halt No. 8 Mocs' Perfect Season

LAKELAND, Fla. - In a battle of top 25 teams, No. 24 Florida Tech men's soccer (7-3, 3-2 SSC) handed No. 8 Florida Southern (9-1, 4-1 SSC) its first loss of the season. The Panthers dominated from start to finish as they won 4-0.

Aymerick Berald-Catelo tallied his second clean sheet of the season on a relatively easy night in goal. Over the 90 minutes, Berald-Catelo only had to stop two shots as most of the action took place in Florida Tech's attacking third.

Four Panthers found the back of the net with Morgan Gauthier (1),  Mikkel Roeisland (1), Hugo Lopez (1) and Guillermo Segovia Marcos (5) adding to their season totals.

The Crimson and Gray kicked off the game by controlling the pace and scoring early. The first came in the 29th minute as Gauthier beat the keeper on a long ball.

The second goal came less than four minutes later when Roeisland found the back of the net off a Craig McCall cross. Florida Tech then carried this 2-0 lead into the locker room.

The second half saw the Mocs begin to attack as they outshot the Panthers 10 to 4. However, quality reigned supreme as Florida Tech converted two of their four shots.

Lopez tacked on the insurance goal in the 79th  minute and exactly a minute later  Marcos lit up the scoreboard.

The Panthers will head back to Rick Stottler Field on Saturday, Oct. 6, as they welcome Sunshine State Conference foe Embry-Riddle. The match is set to start at 7 pm ET.
