Miami Shores, Fla. (Volleyball) - On Saturday night, the Panthers went on the road to face the Buccaneers for another Sunshine State Conference match. Florida Tech (5-14, SSC 2-9) were unable to secure a win against Barry University (17-2, SSC 9-2).
The Panthers concluded the match with a total of 37 kills on 122 attempts for an overall hitting percentage of .189. In addition, Florida Tech concluded the match with 35 assists, four serve aces, nine blocks and 67 digs. Unfortunately, the Panthers effort was not enough to defeat the Buccaneers over three sets of play.
Leading the Panthers defensively, senior
Becca Bower who recorded a total of 21 digs to end the match. Also, senior
Kelly Germain tallied 14 digs with three kills on Saturday night.
Offensively, senior
Heather Bowersox registered a total 10 kills on 22 attempts for a hitting percentage .364. Bowersox also had 10 digs and one block to conclude the match. Also, senior
Olivia Hersey recorded a total of 13 kills on 29 attempts for a hitting percentage of.379.
Next up, the Crimson and Gray will be back on the court Oct. 9 against University of Tampa at Melbourne, Fla. The match is set for 7:00 p.m. ET.
