LAKELAND, Fla. – Florida Tech baseball wenr back on the road for the second weekend in a row, this time facing off with No. 9 Florida Southern. The Panthers fell on hard times after a rough start to game one which led to them dropping game on Friday's series opener, 15-2.

Ty Cohen found himself in the familiar position as the Friday starter. Cohen lasted four and two-thirds innings during which he allowed 12 runs, six earned, on 12 hits.

Jake Buck closed out the night for the Crimson and Gray as he tossed the final three and a third innings. During his appearance, Buck surrendered three runs on four hits.

Rodnie Bernard was the lone spark on the offensive end as he went two-for-three with one run.

The game started off tough for FIT as the Panthers gave up six runs in the bottom half of the first. The Moccasins extended their lead to 8-0 in the fourth and then again in the fifth frame when they batted in six more runs to make the score 14-0.

Florida Tech snagged their first score of the night in the top of the eighth when
Bay McIntosh hit a sacrifice fly deep to right field that sent
Tyler Brown across home plate. The team added their second run later in the inning off a
Michael Jenks single to center field.

Florida Southern tallied the final run of the contest in the bottom of the eighth to close the scoring at 15-2.
