MELBOURNE, Fla. – After dropping their first match of the year, Florida Tech men's soccer (5-1-0, 1-1-0 SSC) looked to get back in the win column against Eckerd (2-5-1, 0-3-0 SSC). The team came out firing and knocked off their Sunshine State Conference foe for the first conference win of the season.
In what has become typical Panther fashion in 2018, the attack was firing on all cylinders against the Tritons as the Crimson and Gray got on the board quickly off a successful
Luca Campanini (4) penalty kick. Another penalty kick pushed the lead to 2-0 when
Per Henrik Nag (7) beat the keeper in the 41
st minute.
However, the momentum look like it had shifted in favor of the Tritons as they managed to tie the score at 2-2 less than 20 minutes into the second half.
Florida Tech did not let this rattle them as the team marched down the pitch and scored the game winner a little over two minutes after Eckerd's second goal.
Guillermo Segovia Marcos (4) then netted his second of the contest 12 minutes after his first off a Campanini assist. This would end the scoring at 4-2.
The Crimson and Gray will try to keep it rolling in the second game of its back-to-back home matches as they take on Nova Southeastern Wednesday, Sep. 26. Scheduled start time for the matchup is 7 p.m.
