MELBOURNE, Fla. - In a chippy contest, No. 19 Florida Tech (5-2, 1-2 SSC) battled with Nova Southeastern (7-1, 3-0 SSC) in a 90 minute defensive bout. Unfortunately, the Panthers found themselves on the wrong end of a 1-0 scoreline.
The first half was a back and forth affair that saw both teams deadlocked at six shots apiece. The only difference came in the 12th minute when NSU's Bradley Fountain scored an outside the box goal that put the lone goal of the night on the board.
The second half saw tempers flare as the Sunshine State Conference rivalry kicked in and the teams began to jaw at one another. The defensive battle continued as both back lines did not provider their attacking counterparts many clean looks at goal.
Florida Tech will get back to the drawing board as they prepare for their match on Saturday, Sept. 29, against Saint Leo. First kickoff is set for 7 p.m. in Saint Leo, Florida.
