Silvestrini Announces 2019 Softball Schedule

MELBOURNE, Fla. - Florida Tech Softball head coach Val Silvestrini released the team's 2019 slate of games. The women are scheduled to participate in 52 contests, of which 26 are home, 16 are away and 10 are neutral site showdowns.

The Panthers kicks off their season with the Florida Tech Classic on Feb. 1-3. The team will host Angelo State and Sunshine State Conference foe, Barry. Tech takes the field for the first time on Feb. 1 as they face ASU, who finished last season at No. 6.

The Crimson and Gray compete in their second straight tournament of the year when they head to Clearwater, Florida for the NFCA Division II Leadoff Classic on Feb. 8-10. Over the weekend, the team will face five different opponents.

Florida Tech then gets its first taste of road competition as the women head to Flagler for a regional game and then to Lynn for their first SSC weekend series of the year.

The Panthers close out their tournament play on Feb. 22-24, with the DII Florida Tech Invitational at Central Florida Spring Training. The women welcome Columbus State, North Georgia, Georgia College and Flagler to Viera, Florida.

Once the Invitational is over, Tech hits the meat of its schedule as the team gets into conference play. Twenty-seven of the final 32 games will be against SSC competition.

The NCAA Regional Tournament is set for May 10-12 and will be hosted by the No. 1 regional seed at the end of the regular season. The NCAA Super Regional round begins the following week.

The 2019 DII Women's College World Series is set for May 23-27 in Denver, Colorado at Metropolitan State University's Regency Athletic Complex.
