Panthers Finished Strong

BIRMINGHAM, ALA. - Florida Tech volleyball concluded the annual Regional Crossover on Saturday afternoon. The Panthers went up against Lee University and Christian Brothers. 

First Match

Tech recorded 43 kills, 40 assists, seven services aces, seven blocks, and 73 digs passing Lee in every category. 

The Panthers had tow payers reach double-digit numbers in the kill category. Senior Audrey Keenan recorded 12 kills with 16 digs to her credit. Elena Ciulli led the team in kills with 14 and registered a .229 hitting percentage. 

Jocelyn Garcia and Kayla Mastin collected six kills each on the match. They also combine a total of three blocks on the Panther win. 

Sheila Villagrasa continues to be a strong presence in the Panther defense collecting 33 assists and 15 digs marking her 12th double of the season. Senior Kyra Atkinson led the team in digs (19). 

Second Match

Florida Tech dominated Christian Brothers in every statistical category. Tech recorded 43 kills on 114 attempts for a .263 hitting percentage. The Panthers also collected 43 assists, five services aces, nine blocks, and 70 digs on the 3-0 victory over the Buccaneers. 

Villagrasa led the team in assists with 33 and collected nine digs, while Atkinson tallied 16 digs. 

Keenan had an outstanding offensive performance collecting 15 kills on 37 attempts for an attacking rate of .297. The Senior also added 13 digs to her credit. 

Garcia had nine kills with a .438 hitting percentage and Tania Kottke collected eight with a .304 attacking rate. 

Next 

The Crimson and Gray head home to face conference opponent Embry-Riddle Eagles. The match is scheduled for Tuesday, October 22th at 7 p.m.
