Men's Soccer Hauls in Seven All-SSC Honors

The Panthers earned Three First Team, Three Second Team and Freshman of the Year Distinctions.

MELBOURNE, Fla. – Florida Tech men's soccer hauled in an impressive amount of hardware as seven players were named All-Sunshine State Conference, announced Wednesday, Nov. 13. Three men were named first team, three were touted second team and one won freshman of the year.

The first-year phenom, Ellis Hudson was bestowed freshman of the year which was a first for Florida Tech since 2017. The Bradford, England, native started 11 and made an appearance in each of the team's 14 matches. During his time on the pitch, tallied four goals and one assist for nine points.

The trio of Guillermo Segovia, Luca Campanini and Jason Fesquet all garnered their first All-SSC honor as they were named first team. All three men were essential parts of the Crimson and Gray as Segovia led the attack with seven goals and seven assists. While Campanini was a leader of the midfield that had two goals and five assists and Fesquet held down the goal as he managed a conference-leading 0.57 goals-against average which propelled him to an 11-2-1 record with seven shutouts.

The defensive-minded trio of Craig McCall, Erlend Hafstad Eikeland and Stian Hagboe Olsen all tabbed second-team honors. McCall was a dual threat in the midfield as he would punish the opposition on the defensive end and the link up with the Panthers attack as he recorded four assists. Eikeland and Olsen were the defensive muscle for one of the nation's best back lines and on occasion, the pair would use their size in set pieces to bolster the team's attacking prowess as they both had two goals and three assists.

These seven men along with the rest of the team will look to take down Palm Beach Atlantic in the semifinal round of the SSC Tournament. This match will take place Thursday, Nov. 14, on the Florida Tech campus at Rick Stottler Field and will begin at 7 p.m. ET.
