Mobil, Ala. – On February 16, the Panthers went on the road for the first time this season against the Badgers. Florida Tech (2-5) traveled to Alabama to do battle with Spring Hill (3-7).
In the first game, the Panthers defeated the Badgers 10-4.
Andrew Marzheuser got his first win of the season pitching an excellent game throwing five innings without allowing a run. The right hander recorded six strikeouts and allowed five hits.
James Gronberg went 3-for-2 with his first home run of the season. The lefthander also recorded an RBI and scored three runs.
Dylan Owens had a great first game going 3-for-2 with a home run and four RIB's.
Rodnie Bernard continues to swing the bat well recording two hits on four plate appearances. Bernard also registered two RIB's.
The Panthers also received production from
Jacob Buser who went 3-for-2 with two RIB's.
In the second game, the Panthers were not able to carry the momentum from the first game as they were defeated (3-2).
Florida Tech agree to play seven inning in the second game of the series in which
Colin Cristello pitched an excellent game going five innings without allowing a run. The senior allowed one hit and recorded four strikeouts.
Gronberg carry his performance from the first game as he went 2-for-3 with a walk in the second game. The senior also recorded his sixth stolen base of the season making him 6-for-6 on the year.
Blaise Maris continues to swing the bat well for the Panthers as he recorded his second home run of the season with a 1-for-4 performance. Maris now ranks third in batting average for the Panthers hitting .391.
Owens continues to be an impactful newcomer for Florida Tech as he went 1-for-2 with an RBI in game two of the series.
The Crimson and Gray will be back tomorrow to wrap of the series against the Badgers. First pitch is scheduled for 12 p.m.
