St. Petersburg, Fla. - On March 1, the Panthers went on the road to face the Tritons for game one of a three game series. Florida Tech (5-7, SSC 2-2) played a close game against Eckerd College (11-4, SSC 3-1), but unfortunately were not able to get the win as they fell 3-2. 

Florida Tech had a tie ball game through seven innings showcasing phenomenal pitching performance by both teams. Eckerd pulled away as they were able to score two runs in the eighth inning. It looked like Florida Tech was making a come back in the ninth but were not able to tie the game.    

Andrew Marzheuser pitched seventh innings allowing five hits and one earned run. Also, the right hander recorded six strikeouts. 

Offensively, the Panthers only run of the game came in the 9th inning when Blaise Maris hit a ground ball scoring Jacob Buser. 

Jakob Newton and Alec Eldridge were the only Panthers with multiple hits (2-for-4). 

The Panthers look to regroup and win the series tomorrow against the Tritons. 

The Crimson and Gray will be back tomorrow to play a doubleheader game. The first game is schedule for 1 p.m. start. Game two will follow after the conclusion of the first game.
