St. Petersburg, Fla. - On March 2, the Panthers faced the Tritons in a doubleheader game. Florida Tech after falling in game one, were able to refocus and defeat Eckerd in both games today.
Colin Cristello pitched game one today pitching 5.2 innings allowing nine hits and three earned runs. Cristelo was able to keep the Panthers in the game allowing
Rhett Willis to get his first win of the season. Willis pitched one inning in which he struck out two batters.
Offensively, the Panthers tallied 13 hits, eight run score and seven RBI;s.
Jacob Buser had a good game for the Panthers as he went 3-for-5 with three RBI's. Also,
Jakob Newton went 2-for-4 with an RBI.
In the second game, the Panthers were able to win the series against Tritons (16-7).
The winning pitcher for the Panthers was
Justin Lorenz. The freshman pitched 3.2 innings allowing 3 hits and two runs. Also, he recorded three strikeouts on the Panther victory.
Offensively, the Panthers tallied 19 hits, 16 run scored and 16 RBI's.
James Gronberg had a good game going 2-for-4 with one RBI.
Rodnie Bernard went 3-for-6 with three RBI's in the victory.
Jacob Buser recorded four RBI's as he went 3-for-4 on the game. Also,
Brett Parrish recorded four RBI's on the night going 2-for-5 on the Panther victory.
The Crimson and Gray will be back Monday, March 4 as they play Malone in Winter Park, Fla. First pitch is schedule for at 1 p.m.
