Fort Lauderdale, Fla. - On March 16, the Panthers went up against No.19 Nova to wrap up the weekend series. Florida Tech (14-9, SSC 5-4) were not able to secure a series win after winning game one of the series (7-1).
In game one, Florida Tech jumped to an early start scoring one run of a solo home run by
James Gronberg. The Connecticut native had a good day at the plate going 2-for-3 with a homerun and a RBI.
Colin Cristello started game one of the doubleheader. He pitched 6 innings allowing nine hits and six run scored. The right hander recorded three strikeouts in the game.
Unfortunately, this was the only offense by the Panthers as they were only limited to two hits in the game.
In game two, the Sharks quickly went ahead as they recorded five runs in the first three innings.
The Panthers were forced to battle back and they started to show offensive life scoring five runs in three innings but was not enough to stop the Sharks.
On the plate,
Rodnie Bernard went 2-for-4 with an run and a RBI. Bernard leads the Panther in batting average hitting .382 on the year.
Raul Quintero recorded his eighth RBI of the season with a double to left field. The Weston native went 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI's.
Jacob Buser recorded his 30th RBI of the season with a 1-for-3 performance in the second game of the doubleheader.
Unfortunately, the Panthers nine game winning streak was snap by the Sharks
The Crimson and Gray will head to Daytona Beach next to face Embry Riddle on Friday, March 22 at 6 p.m.
