Panthers Defeat Pioneers

Rhett Willis Recorded Five Perfect Innings for the Panthers

Winter Park, Fla. - On March 4, the Panthers went up against Malone University at a neutral site game Alfond Stadium at Harper-Shepherd Field. Florida Tech (8-7, SSC 4-2) defeated Malone University (9-2). 

The starter for the Panthers was Rhett Willis in which he pitched five perfect innings. The Fort White native also recorded five strikeouts in today's start. With this performance the right hander records his second win of the season. 

Offensively, Jacob Buser contributed on the Panther win going  2-for-3 with a double and three RBI's. Buser now ranks second in RBI's and fourth in doubles in the Sunshine State Conference. 

Pedro Rivera was a big part of the Panther win as he went 3-for-5 with two RBI's and two run scored.

James Gronberg went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI's. The left hander also recorded two base on balls and his 11 steal of the season. Gronberg now ranks second in stolen bases, third in walks and sixth in on base percentage in the SSC.  

The Panthers are back in action Wednesday, March 6 to face Flagler College at St. Augustine. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. All the links for life coverage will be provided on FloridaTechSports.com.
